Police arrest one, search for second suspect in Morro Bay armed robbery

Posted: Updated:

The Morro Bay Police Department has made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery at Del Mar Park back in July and is looking for a second suspect.

Police say the two suspects in the case lured the victim to the park by using a fake name on a social media site in order to rob him of marijuana. They say the victim was struck in the face with a handgun during the robbery.

Investigators say they've since been able to identify the suspects, and on Wednesday morning, they arrested Judal Emmanuel Thompson, 18, at his home in Los Osos. He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and a probation violation. His bail is set at $60,000.

Police are still looking for Andrew Shane Quintana, 21, who also goes by the last name of Driscoll. He faces charges of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and threatening/intimidating a witness, with a pending charge of conspiracy.

Police believe the two men have been involved in several other crimes in the area. In September, Thompson and a 14-year-old girl were arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a home on Ironwood Avenue.

Anyone with information about this case or the whereabouts of Quintana (Driscoll), is urged to call police at (805) 772-6225 and reference case #17000918.
