Truck full of donations for wildfire victims headed north on Tuesday night

Posted: Updated:

A wildfire relief drive benefiting people in Northern California is underway in San Luis Obispo.

The San Luis Obispo County Progressives Democratic Club and Local Teamsters Union are collecting donations of food, water, baby items and other essentials until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the local Democratic Party Headquarters at 75 Higuera Street.

"We see what's happening up in Sonoma County, they are an urban area just like us, and the devastation that is happening there hits close to home and we know that they would do the same thing to help us if we were in that situation so we're happy to be able to help them," said Tarrah Graves, co-chair of the SLO County Progressives Democratic Club.

They'll be loading up a semi truck Tuesday night and are looking for volunteers to help.
