St. Joseph football prepares for undefeated Lompoc

Posted: Updated:

The St. Joseph football program is preparing for its Week 9 match up with Los Padres League heavyweight, Lompoc. The Knights are coming off a bye week entering their game with the Braves at 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the LPL.

St. Joseph has proved all season that its offense is one of the most dynamic on the Central Coast, averaging over 42 points per game.

Head Coach Jim Chvala says his team will need to be at its best Friday night if they hope to halt their 3-game losing streak to Lompoc.

"We have to continue to do what we've done the past few weeks, just play good football, make our tackles, and execute it well," Chvala said. "Basically, we've just prepared hard and it's up to the kids at this point. We've done the coaching and teaching and they've learned well. They've worked hard, so it's going to be up to their mentality to get the start in this game."

Lompoc and St. Joseph will kick off at 7:00 p.m. Friday night in Lompoc.
