Morrissey, indie rocker and former frontman of The Smiths, called off his concert at Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles Sunday night, disappointing hundreds of fans who were waiting to see him perform.

The reason, according to an announcement made at the venue about an hour after the concert was supposed to begin, was "an inoperable heating system on stage."

Temperatures in the Paso Robles area dipped into the 40s Sunday night.

The concert will reportedly be rescheduled for the 2018 season. In a statement, promoter Nederlander Concerts advised concertgoers, "Please hold onto your tickets and visit the Vina Robles Amphitheatre website for the rescheduled show date. Refunds are available at the point of purchase."

Morrissey has a well-known history of concert cancellations and postponements. He is currently touring in support of his new album, "Low in High School" to be released on Nov. 17. His next two concerts are scheduled for the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Nov. 10 and 11.
