Foodbank of Santa Barbara County in need of turkeys for Thanksgiving

Posted: Updated:

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is gearing up for a busy Thanksgiving but desperately needs your help.

It needs 3,000 turkeys to help those in need and has only reached 7% of that goal.

"We really need the community to help us out and step up and bring us some more turkeys," said Paul Wilkins, Foodbank of Santa Barbara County Director of Operations.

People can donate at either of these two locations in the county:

490 West Foster Road in Santa Maria

4554 Hollister Avenue in Santa Barbara

Donations can be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The deadline to donate is this Friday.

The turkeys go to nonprofit agencies throughout Santa Barbara County that provide meals to those in need.
