No problems as magnitude 4.7 earthquake shakes near Salinas

A light earthquake struck near Salinas on Monday but there are no immediate reports of damages or injuries.
    
The quake with a preliminary 4.7 magnitude struck at 11:30 a.m. about 14 miles northeast of the small town of Gonzales in an area of mostly wilderness or agricultural fields.
    
The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter was about 4 miles deep.
    
The National Weather Service office in Monterey tweeted the quake was felt in its office, 25 miles southeast of the epicenter.
    
Police and fire officials in and around the area reported no immediate damages, injuries or other problems.
