'Stand Strong': Women's shelter rebrands itself to empower, encourage victims

Posted: Updated:

The Women's Shelter of San Luis Obispo County will go by a new name: Stand Strong

The new name comes from a decision to find ways to empower victims. Shelter officials say "Stand Strong" reflects the courage and empowerment of domestic violence survivors.

Stand Strong was a non-profit chosen for the "24-Hour Give" advertising campaign, put on by the marketing agency Verdin. They received a new website, a rebranding package, and future exposure tools.

The community voted last month on which non-profit should win, and the women's shelter was chosen.

The rebranding cost at an estimated $130,000.

Stand Strong offers a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, legal and support services, and more. You can learn more about the shelter here
