Three campgrounds in the Los Padres National Forest are temporarily closing to demolish and install new toilets and toiletries, officials announced Tuesday morning.

Two campgrounds in Santa Barbara County, Brookshire and Miranda Pine, and one in San Luis Obispo County, La Panza, will be closed effective immediately. Santa Lucia Rangers say old toilet buildings will be demolished and crews will install new vault toilets.

Those campgrounds will be closed for the next four to five weeks.

Los Padres forest say the public is prohibited from being in those campgrounds until the work is completed. This is to ensure that there isn't any interference with the construction work.

The project is funded by the California State Off Highway Grant program.
