Five student-athletes from San Luis Obispo High School inked their National Letters of Intent, committing to the collegiate teams they will compete for next year.

Isabel Carpenter, a member of the girls golf team, will attend CSU Monterey Bay next year and will join the team there. For Carpenter, she had been waiting for this day her entire life.

"I've always wanted to play a college sport, so I've always dreamt of this moment, having my friends and family supporting me like they have my entire life," Carpenter said. "I was just really excited for this opportunity".

Tia Gin, a standout gymnast for Performance Athletics, will attend San Jose State and compete for the Spartans.

Casey Leebrick will play golf for York College of Pennsylvania.

"It was really special, just to see that all of our hard work has been paying off," Leebrick said. "I've known two out of the five since kindergarten and it's just so cool to grow up with them and see this day come true."

Galen Penvenne will join the swim team for the California Golden Bears.

Natalie Ziegler will travel to Colorado Northeastern Community College to play softball.
