5th dead bird infected with West Nile Virus found in SLO County

Another dead bird in San Luis Obispo County is found to have West Nile virus. 

Health officials say a bird collected in the city of San Luis Obispo on November 9 tested positive for the disease. 

It is the fifth confirmed case of West Nile in birds in the county this year. 

It is the first infected bird found in the city of San Luis Obispo. 

The other diseased birds were discovered in Atascadero, Paso Robles and Templeton. 

West Nile virus has killed 25 Californians so far this year, according to the California Department of Public Health.
