Two Arroyo Grande Eagles ink National Letters of Intent

Posted: Updated:

Arroyo Grande High School seniors, Macie Lachemann and Brianna Giordano inked their National Letters of Intent Wednesday.

Lachemann is a standout volleyball player and helped the Eagles to an undefeated PAC-8 league championship. "I really wanted to play beach volleyball in college but I was looking to go to Colorado and they were the only school in Colorado and I went there and just fell in love with it," Lachemann said.

Brianna Giordano committed to Northwestern College in Iowa to continue her softball career. "I went to visit it and thought, what the heck," Giordano said. "It was a great match, great school academically, athletically, and I thought, 'I'm going to go with it.' I can't see myself not going there."

Joining Giordano at Northwestern College is Pioneer Valley senior, Vanessa Gomez. She inked her college commitment in front of her coaches, family, and friends Wednesday. Gomez said she enjoys the small community feel of the college and how dedicated they are in helping her succeed. She plans to study nursing.

"I want to help and give back, make people feel good. To put a smile on people's faces who are going through a devastating illness, or an injury, whatever they need, I just want to be able to help them," Gomez said.
