Orcutt Academy football prepares for first ever CIF semifinals appearance

Posted: Updated:

Orcutt Academy football is gearing up for its first-ever appearance in the 8-man CIF semifinals. The Spartans will host Faith Baptist on Saturday at Pioneer Valley.

Orcutt started the season offensively strong, putting up 228 points in its first four games while the defense held its opponents to 67 points. Faith Baptist, however, handed Orcutt its first loss of the season, defeating the Spartans 42-28.

"It's one of those deals where we learned, and I know Faith Baptist has saw some film on us," said Doug May, Spartans head coach. "We've had our ups and downs, but we're definitely going to have a battle on our hands on Saturday night. I'm looking forward to the game, and we'll see how the chips fall."

Kick off is at 6:30 p.m.
