Central Coast Living: Must-see holiday décor & light displays

Posted: Updated:

Twas’ the night of Thanksgiving when all along the coast, family and friends will take turns playing host.

The holiday decorations are going up with care at the Madonna Inn where thousands of visitors will pop in there.

“We start bringing out all the Christmas trees and all the decorations,” said Madonna Inn artistic director Amanda Rich. “We just want to make it like a winter wonderland for everyone to come enjoy.”

Sparkling ornaments, snowflakes and a nativity scene adorn the dining room with Christmas joy.

“There's something for everybody to see,” Rich said. “…even if you've been here year after year.”

The newest addition is Mrs. Clause and a rather large reindeer.

While forest friends nestle all snug in their faux snow beds, visions of caramel Dutch apple pies are dancing in our heads!

One North Coast town gets dressed up all up and down.

Over one million colorful lights drawn thousands to town.

The Cambria Christmas Market shines bright for the first time Friday night.

Buy your tickets online because they tend to sell out night after night.

Away to Paso Robles we fly in a flash, where more holiday lights are going up in a dash.

To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!

Broken Earth Winery light ups 50 light displays in all.

The Holiday Lighting Extravaganza and Charity Drive is just one night only, 5:30-8:00 p.m. on November 25.

So spring to your sleigh, round up your family with a whistle and fly out the door like the down of a thistle.
Then post with #BeOnKSBY your favorite holiday decoration sight.

Happy Holidays to all and to all a good Thanksgiving night!
