San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles boys cross country teams prepare for CIF State Championships

Posted: Updated:

Both the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles High School boys cross country teams are preparing for the 2017 CIF State Cross Country Championships.

The Bearcats placed fifth last weekend during the CIF Division 2 3-Mile Finals. This is the first time Paso Robles has advanced while being in Division 2.

The Tigers finished in sixth place in Division 4, securing a spot in the state meet.

Senior Jacob Andreatta is happy to return to the State Championship for his final school year. "That's been kind of our goal this whole year to really make it to state and compete and compete against the best teams in the state," Andreatta said.

Three runners will be competing individually, Arroyo Grande's Luis Jazo, St. Joseph's Joseph Domingues Jr, and Morro Bay's Audry McClish. McClish is the only female runner on the Central Coast to advance to the state meet.

The State Championship is on Saturday, November 25 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
