A strong high-pressure ridge off the Northern California coastline will produce periods of gale-force Santa Lucia winds Sunday into Tuesday.

The offshore winds will increase to 25-38 mph with gusts reaching up to 55 mph in some of the coastal canyons and passes on Monday night into Tuesday morning.

A cooler air mass will filter into the Central Coast late Sunday into Monday.

Overnight temperatures will drop to the mid 20s in the North County during this period.

But as the week progresses, high temperatures could break daily records, reaching the high 70s in the North County and along the beaches and mid 80s in coastal valleys.
