Cal Poly student reports attempted sexual assault

San Luis Obispo Police say a 22-year-old Cal Poly student reported a man tried to sexually assault her at her home.

It happened on the 1200 block of Foothill Blvd. around 11:30 Monday night.

According to the report, an unknown male tried to sexually assault the woman in her apartment as she stepped out of the shower.

Investigators say the victim was not physically injured, and the suspect took off before completing a sexual assault.

The victim says she didn't know the man but described him as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male adult in his mid to late 20s. She stated he was about 5'9" to 5'10" tall with an average build and possibly a shaved head. The suspect was said to be wearing a white plaid shirt, black leather-style jacket, black ski gloves, blue jeans with tan stitching, and white Converse shoes.
