School closures for Monday, December 11

The County of Santa Barbara says the school closures will affect children who rely on school meals.

Healthy groceries will be distributed in Santa Barbara Monday by the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County for anyone in need of them.

The distribution will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 4554 Hollister Avenue, adjacent to the Page Youth Center. 


UPDATE (9:45 p.m.) - St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School in Orcutt and La Purisima Concepcion Catholic School in Lompoc will also be closed on Monday.

The Children's House Montessori School in Santa Maria announced it will also be closed Monday. 


UPDATE (7 p.m.) - Providence Christian School in Santa Barbara announced it will be closed starting Monday, Dec. 11 until Jan. 3. Final exams have been rescheduled for Jan. 8-10.

Allan Hancock College plans to remain open; however, the college's Santa Ynez Valley Center will be closed and final exams scheduled to be held there will instead take place in the Route 246 Ballroom at the Corque Hotel, located at 400 Alisal Road in Solvang.

St. Mary of the Assumption School and Preschool will be closed Monday. Updates will be provided on the school's Facebook page.

Coastline Christian Academy in Goleta will also be closed Monday.


UPDATE (4:23 p.m.) - School closures for Monday in the Santa Maria area have also been announced for the following districts: Santa Maria Joint Union High School District, Santa Maria Bonita, Orcutt and Guadalupe.


UPDATE: (4:15 p.m.) - School closures for Monday only include the following school districts: Lompoc Unified, Ballard, Buellton, College, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez Valley Union High School, Solvang, and Vista del Mar.

Goleta Union School District will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Adelante Charter School, Peabody Charter School and Santa Barbara Charter School will also be closed for at least those two days.

The following school districts will be closed for the entire week: Carpinteria Unified, Cold Spring, Hope, Montecito Union, and Santa Barbara Unified. 


UPDATE: (3:00 p.m.) - Santa Barbara City College announced its campuses will remain closed until Monday, December 18. The closures include Main, Wake and Schott campuses.


UPDATE (11:30 a.m.) - Carpinteria Unified Schools will remain closed for the full week and school will resume following the winter break on Jan. 8.


ORIGINAL STORY - School schedules for Monday, December 11: 

Carpinteria School District, Cold Spring School District, Goleta Union School District, Hope School District, Montecito Union School District, Santa Barbara Unified School District, and Vista del Mar Union School District will be closed.

Adelante Charter, Peabody Charter, Santa Barbara Charter, and College School District in Santa Ynez will also be closed.

UCSB will be open but tweeted this Sunday morning: 

SBCC campuses will remain closed on Monday. Crews will be working to remove ash from campus building and outdoor areas in anticipation of reopening on Tuesday.

Ventura College and the Ventura College Santa Paula: open The Ventura College Nurse Pinning scheduled on Monday, December 11 has been postponed.

Moorpark College: open 

Oxnard College: open
