N95 mask distribution locations for Sunday

As the Thomas Fire grows to more than 269,000 acres, air quality in Santa Barbara County remains impacted. 

More than 300,000 N95 masks have been handed out to people in surrounding communities since the fire broke out December 4.

More will be made available Sunday at the following locations:

  • Goleta Valley Community Center, 5679 Hollister Ave., from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Santa Barbara Public Library, 40 East Anapamu St. in Santa Barbara. from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Buellton CVS, 218 East Highway 246, (ask store staff) from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

N95 masks offer some protection from fine particles in smoke that ordinary or surgical masks do not offer.
