N95 mask distribution locations this week

Posted: Updated:

The County of Santa Barbara is reminding residents to continue wearing specialized face masks when outdoors even though smoke from the Thomas Fire has, for the time being, lifted.

Air quality for much of the county was listed in the "moderate" range Monday, although Santa Maria was listed as "good."

N95 masks offer some protection from fine particles in smoke that ordinary or surgical masks do not offer.

Masks will be available at the following locations this week:

  • Goleta Valley Community Center, 5679 Hollister Ave., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Goleta City Hall, 130 Cremona Dr., Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Santa Barbara Public Library, 40 East Anapamu St., Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m.. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Carpinteria Public Library, 5141 Carpinteria Ave., Monday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. To 5:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
