Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Look no further!


Yogis & Yogurt
Head to Zest Studio for a one hour yoga session, then build your own parfait at a yogurt parfait bar following the class. The session will be taught by Arielle Sima. Participants are asked to bring their yoga mat, as few mats will be available for purchase.

Free type-writing workshop for families
Children ages 8 and up are welcome to come to the Dunes Center in honor of the Defender of the Dunes, Kathleen Goddard Jones. Jones (1907-2001) was a local environmental activist with a passion for the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex. She led a campaign to conserve the Dunes for public enjoyment. Workshop participants will learn how to operate a type-writer and even get to decorate their own stationary.

Estero Bluff Rocks
See the mix of tortured rocks (sedimentary, metamorphic and volcanic) that tectonic forces spewed up along this scenic section of coastline.
Bring binoculars and water; wear sturdy beach shoes and layered clothing.
Meet in dirt parking lot one mile north of the end of divided section of Hwy 1, north of Cayucos at 9 a.m. Moderate hike but short, steep path to beach. 2 miles. 2 hrs

Live Music
See Shai Golan Band perform live at 3 p.m. at The Siren (900 Main St., Morro Bay). Shai Golan is an Israeli saxophonist currently residing in New York.  Shai started his musical endeavors on piano and then switched to clarinet followed by the saxophone once he moved to California at 10 years old. He has performed with Benny Golson, David Liebman, David Binney, John Daversa, the CBDA All-California Jazz Band, the SCSBOA Jazz Band, the LAUSD Jazz Band, the CSUN Jazz Band, the MSM Jazz Philharmonic, the Tom Kubis Big Band, and more.


Catch a film screening!
The 2018 SLO Jewish Film Festival begins this weekend and runs through January 15. There will be screenings of Jewish films for adults and kid friendly films starting Sunday. Stick around afterward for the Q&A sessions with the directors. Ticket prices vary per event.

Wildlife Photography Demonstration
In honor of the annual Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival, wildlife photographer Brady Cabe will present a slideshow of his photography of local birds. He will also share some interesting facts about his subjects. Bring your camera for the meet and greet!
