Cities seeking band applications for summer concert series

Central Coast cities are looking for the best bands to play in their 2018 summer concert series. The following participating cities are ready for applicants:

Templeton
Templeton is accepting applications for its Concerts in the Park series, due no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018. Interested bands should apply at www.templetoncsd.org. The concert series will run from June 6 through August 22.

Atascadero
Atascadero's Recreation Division is now accepting applications, available at the Colony Park Community Center, located at 5599 Traffic Way and on the city website: www.atascadero.org/concertseries.
Concerts will be held on the following Saturdays: June 16th (an Evening of Jazz), June 30th, July 7th, July 14th, July 21st, July 28th, August 4th and August 11th, 2018.  All concerts are held at the Atascadero Lake Park Bandstand from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and are free for the community. Each selected band is paid a one-time stipend of $300 on the evening of the respective concert.  The City of Atascadero will provide an audio technician for each concert.  Personal audio equipment is not allowed. 

San Luis Obispo
Downtown SLO is looking for exceptional band applications to participate in the 23rd season of Concerts in the Plaza. Those are now available online at DowntownSLO.com. Applications are due no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31.  Last year, 14 bands were selected from over 90 applicants, the first time that applications from throughout the state of California were accepted. The band line-up will be released around March 16, 2018. Bands receive $750 for their performance.

Paso Robles
Paso Robles Recreation Services and the Paso Robles REC Foundation are currently accepting applications for interested performers. Last summer, the series attracted over 25,000 attendees and has been a summer tradition since 2002. Bands will receive $500 for their performance. Concerts will take place on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. Band interest forms are available at www.prcity.com/recreation . Interested performers must email an electronic press kit by January 16 to Recreation Services Manager Lynda Plescia at lplescia@prcity.com
