UPDATE: Thousands lose power in Santa Barbara County

UPDATE (4:00 a.m.) - More than 1,600 people are without power in Santa Barbara County Tuesday morning. 

At about 3:30 a.m., Southern California Edison reported 1341 people lost power in west Goleta. 

Crews are also working to restore power to 52 customers near downtown Santa Barbara.

Power remains out to 80 people in Buellton, according to PG&E.

In the Cahuma Lake area, 193 customers are still in the dark.

Crews from both utility companies are working to restore service. 


UPDATE (1:15 a.m.) - PG&E reports lingering outages in Buellton. Approximately 97 customers are still without power in Buellton, while 193 are without power south and west of Lake Cachuma. 147 customers are without power in Vandenberg Village. Power has been restored to customers in Atascadero.


ORIGINAL STORY - Power has been knocked out on Monday night to PG&E customers in Buellton, Atascadero and parts of unincorporated San Luis Obispo County.

As of 11:20 p.m. Monday, PG&E reported 293 customers without power in Buellton east of Highway 101. In addition, 61 customers are without power in Atascadero northeast of Portola Road and San Marcos Road. Eight additional customers are without power on Highway 41 near Bear Ridge Road after a car crashed into a power pole.

PG&E said it is actively working to restore power to all customers.
