Quiet weather in for a long stay

Posted: Updated:

After the devastating rainfall and mudslide in the Montecito, the weather pattern has made a major turn: high pressure has returned and the large-scale pattern will support a quiet forecast for about 10 days.

High temperatures over the next few days in the coastal valleys will be in the 70s with Southcoast and inland locations in the 60s.  Night and morning offshore flow will be locally gusty to 20mph but the general flow will average 5-15mph.  Winds may stay offshore most of the next few days, perhaps a slight shift to the N.  This will be dry air.  Some areas of night and morning low clouds and fog are possible for the next few days in the interior valleys.

The weekend looks warm with coastal valley temps in the mid-70s and 80 degrees is not out of the question.  Inland valley temps will be near 70.

Temps ease back to upper 60s and lower 70s for the balance of next week.

Long range patterns show rain opportunities around the 20th with more around the 24th, however, this forecast is long range so stay tuned for updates and changes.
