French Hospital Medical Center has completed an Acute Care Nursery at the Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center to serve prenatal babies and their mothers.
The center will offer bedside neonatal nursing staff, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and an onside neonatal resuscitation team to help babies born near term.
Hospital officials said the center will give additional support to babies 34 weeks and older and will provide oxygen therapy, intravenous therapy, transitional care and long-term care.
The hospital is also increasing services for new moms and insulin dependent babies.Officials said the new center will help keep moms and babies together and ensure the safety and care of both.
