Evacuation warnings, orders for areas in Summerland, Carpinteria lifted at noon Saturday

Evacuation warnings and order for many Santa Barbara County residents will be lifted effective at noon Saturday as more than 2,000 personnel continue to clean up after Tuesday morning's mudslide.

Santa Barbara County officials said that residents in the following area will no longer be under evacuation warning effective at noon Saturday:

  • South of Highway 192 between Ortega Ridge Road to the Santa Barbara County line

The evacuation order for the following area will also be lifted at noon Saturday:

  • Areas east of Toro Canyon Road and North of Highway 192.

The areas affected include Summerland and Carpinteria.

Meanwhile, most areas in Montecito remain under mandatory evacuation orders. In addition, a boil water order is still in effect for customers in the Montecito Water District, which includes Summerland.
