Santa Barbara benefit concert for mudslide victims

Posted: Updated:

The community is invited to a free concert to benefit disaster relief and recovery efforts following the mudslides that impacted Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria.

Santa Barbara Symphony has teamed up with Montecito Bank & Trust and the Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts to host the benefit concert entitled "Music for Healing and Community."

Guitarist Pablo Sáinz Villegas will perform accompanied by a small orchestra, according to organizers.

“This will be an evening of community and comfort, with the healing power of music,” said Santa Barbara Symphony executive director Kevin A. Marvin in a press release. “Pablo Sáinz Villegas and the orchestra will present an intimate and uplifting performance.”

Volunteers from Montecito Bank & Trust will collect donations at the door.

The concert is set for Thursday night at 7:30 at the Granada Theater in Santa Barbara.

Tickets will be available during regular business hours Wednesday and Thursday at the Santa Barbara Symphony office, 1330 State Street, Suite 102.

You may also get tickets at the door Thursday night.

Organizers say tickets will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis.
