Cuesta College welcomed students back for the 2018 spring semester with the opening of a new instructional building on its San Luis Obispo campus Tuesday morning.

The Measure L bond-funded two-story, 32,000 square-foot building has eight multi-discipline classrooms on the first floor, with the capacity of up to 50 students each, and a forum-sized classroom that can hold up to 80 students.

On the second floor, there are more than 40 offices, a large staff lounge and three meeting rooms.

Construction for the project began on April 11, 2016.

Another Measure L-funded building has been built on Cuesta's North County campus. The campus center is 43,000 square feet and is also two stories. It is geared toward student services, such as counseling, admissions and records, financial aid, cafeteria, bookstore and a health center. Construction on that building is expected to be completed soon.
