Warming trend heading into the weekend

Posted: Updated:

A few high clouds Friday morning will give way to sunny skies throughout the weekend as high pressure continues to build.

Offshore flow will pick up this afternoon with northeasterly winds 15-25 mph. Winds increase 20-30 mph tomorrow.

A high surf advisory is in effect through Saturday morning. Waves will be 9-12 feet with local sets to 15 feet.

Daytime highs will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

By Sunday, many locations will hit nearly 80 degrees or above.

A red flag warning has been issued for LA and Ventura counties due to gusty winds, high temperatures and low humidities.

High pressure will dominate through Monday and produce above normal temperatures.

Expect gradual cooling throughout the remainder of next work week.
