Paso Robles announces Summer Concerts in the Park lineup

Ten local musical groups will headline Paso Robles' 2018 Summer Concerts in the Park.

The concert series kicks off on Thursday, June 7 with The Brass Factory.

The concerts take place at the downtown City Park and start at 6 p.m. each Thursday through Aug. 16. Food and drink, including J. Lohr wine and Firestone beer, will be available for purchase. All proceeds from beverage sales will benefit the Paso Robles REC Foundation.

The public is encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to get comfortable and enjoy the live music.

More than 50 bands applied to perform during this year's concert series.

June 7 - The Brass Factory (classic R&B/Motown)
June 14 - The Jammies (rock, funk, reggae)
June 21 - Monte Mills (country and rock n' roll)
June 28 - Dulcie Taylor (rockin' American roots)
July 5 - Unfinished Business (rock n' roll, soul)
July 12 - Dirty Cello (energetic blues/bluegrass)
July 19 - Sound Investment (pop, rock, dance)
August 2 - The JD Project (country, rock, blues) 
August 9 - The Kings of 88 (classic piano rock)
August 16 - Joy Bonner Band (rockin' old soul)

    Two bears who were burned in the Thomas Fire were released into the wild last week.  The California Department of Fish and Wildlife says the two bears and a mountain lion had burned paws when they arrived at the Wildlife Investigations Lap in Rancho Cordova.  The three were in their care since December; the first bear arrived Dec. 9 while the last animal was picked up on Dec. 23.  Dr. Deana Clifford , along with some trained professionals and veterinarians, created a...
