No rain in the short term but models show a potential pattern shift late in the month

Posted: Updated:

Marine layer re-developed today as expected as southerly winds pushed it up from the Santa Barbra county Southcoast.

There is very little new in the forecast, the high-pressure ridge is still in place and not much change into the Thursday.  Friday into the weekend some NW wind picks up with a trough digging in, and winds Saturday could be 15-30mph at the coast.  But the ridge of high pressure builds again next week for warm and dry weather.

Models are back to liking rain around the 20th-21st and today it is showing a large storm capable of inches of rain.  This feature hasn't shown up on all the runs but has occasionally meaning it is actually worth keeping an eye on.
