Lompoc Braves star running back Toa Taua signed his letter of intent to play football at the University of Nevada on National Signing Day. Taua announced his initial commitment at the Polynesian Bowl in Hawai'i on January 20.

Taua capped of a tremendous senior campaign at Lompoc with 1,673 yards rushing on 146 carries, while scoring 26 touchdowns.

Toa says he's excited to continue the Taua legacy at Nevada where his brother Vai was a standout for the Wolfpack and is currently on the coaching staff as a Special Teams Analyst.

"This is an amazing day," Toa said. "I'm very honored and bless to be able to celebrate a day like to today, and celebrate getting a free scholarship to do what I love and further my education."

"You know family always comes out on top," Toa's father Tee added. "His brother is coaching up there, and he'll head up there to do his thing there. I'm all for it."

The Tauas also announced on Wednesday that middle brother Ainuu will also head to Nevada as a graduate transfer from UCLA.
