Offshore winds help push some of the marine layer back

Posted: Updated:

Back to warm conditions to close the week with more offshore night and morning breeze setting up, it isn't particularly strong but the ridge of high pressure continues to produce surface high pressure limiting the extent of marine cooling.

We do see a bit of a change Sunday into Monday when a low drops into Nevada, NW winds 15-25 near the coast Sunday will keep skies clear but also serve to bring temps down.

An upper low digs Tuesday-Thursday and brings a chance of rain, especially across SB county but it doesn't look like a huge rain maker.  Another cold front sweeps thru on the 19th, but far from the parent low, this looks like another splash and dash type front.

Models keep showing some pattern change around the 20th-22nd but keep sliding the dates and the features around.  I'd call it slight optimism at this point but low confidence on the details. Stay tuned.
