Craft wine festival kicks off in Solvang

Posted: Updated:

The sixth annual 2018 Southern Exposure Garagiste Wine Festival kicks off Friday night in Solvang.

The festival runs all weekend and will feature 30 different micro-production wineries.

Attendees will be able to chat one-on-one with local craft winemakers and learn about their unique wines.

We asked organizers what exactly it means to be "garagiste" winemakers.

"We've redefined it in California to actually explain what small artisan wine makers are," said Garagiste Events Inc. president Stewart McLennan. "We limit the production of our wineries to 1,500 cases."

The event is almost sold out.
