Police seek suspect in Paso Robles stabbing

Posted: Updated:

Paso Robles police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

Paso Robles resident Samuel Joel Maduena, 36, is accused of stabbing a 30-year-old relative. The victim was hospitalized with wounds that do not appear to be life threatening, according to a release from police.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday, the Paso Robles Police Department received a report of two men in a fight on the 3100 block of Spring Street. When officers arrived, they located the relative, who had an apparent stab wound on his lower back.

Police say Maduena has several tattoos on his face and neck, and was last seen wearing a black hat, black sweater and blue jeans.

He fled the scene in a black 2011 Honda Accord with California license plate 6PTW612. Paso Robles police say Maduena should be considered "armed and dangerous" and urge anyone who sees him to call 911.

People with information on the case can call the Paso Robles Police Department at 805-237-6464. Those wanting to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers' 24-hour hotline at 549-STOP or text “SLOTIPS” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
