A high-pressure system building over California is continuing to bring temperatures above seasonal norms.

Daytime highs for the beaches, coastal and inland valleys are expected to be in the low to mid-70s. There might be some coastal cloud coverage along the coast in the morning hours but that’s expected to burn off by the afternoon.

Offshore winds will be within a 10 to 20 mile per hour range Friday. They will pick up in the afternoon hours in areas like Solvang, Lompoc and along the north coast but not reach advisory level.

Looking ahead to the end of the weekend, a cold trough of low pressure is in the forecast which will bring significant cooling with the chance for light drizzle early Sunday morning.
