Caroline Cantlay earned a top-30 finish in a strong field of players competing in the Bruin Wave Invitational women's golf tournament, which finished a two-day, 54-hole run Tuesday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.

Cantlay (pictured at right) carded a final-round 77 for a 17-over-par 233 total and a tie for 27th place while teammate Desiree Gillaspy finished with an 82 for a 234 total and a tie for 33rd place.

Cal Poly finished 10th in the 16-team field, posting a final-round four-person 314 total for a 54-hole 945 aggregate.

A trio of Pac-12 schools claimed the top three spots in the team standings. Southern California was first with a 32-over-par 896 total, eight shots ahead of runner-up UCLA. Stanford was third, another two shots back.

Individual champion for the second straight year was Lilia Vu of UCLA, the only golfer in the field to finish under par. Her final-round 75 gave the Bruin golfer a one-under-par 215 total and a two-shot victory over Albane Valenzuela of Stanford. Jennifer Chang of Southern California was third.

Cal Poly's other scoring golfers were Sophie Berglund, tied for 46th place with a 238 total after a final-round 76; Jamie Harada, tied for 53rd place with a 240 total following a 79; and Mallory Muehlbauer, tied for 76th place at 249 with a final-round 87.

Cal Poly returns to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Meadow Club Invitational co-hosted by San Jose State and the University of San Francisco at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
