Temporary animal sculptures honor Waller Park's zoo history

Posted: Updated:

A temporary exhibit at Waller Park is catching the eye of some artists.

The Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture along with County Parks is putting on the exhibit of animal sculptures as a "nod to the park's history."

Waller park used to serve as a community zoo, at times having rabbits, a bear, buffalo, camel and other native animals. Many of the animals were later transferred to local zoos.

Visitors are encouraged to come take a look before the art lasts.

Waller park is located at 3107 Orcutt Road.
