Cabrillo High School principal resigns

Posted: Updated:

Cabrillo High School Principal Jeff Wagonseller is stepping down.

Wagonseller has been on administrative leave since September.

According to the Lompoc Unified School District, he will remain on paid leave until June 30, 2018, when his resignation becomes effective. At that time, he'll receive two month's salary and benefits.

School district officials have provided no explanation as to why Wagonseller was placed on leave, calling it a "personnel matter."

He had been the principal at Cabrillo High School since 2014.

District officials say Sue Pettis will remain as interim principal through the end of the school year. The search for a new principal is currently underway.
