Tuesday looks warm but wet weather returns for the weekend

Posted: Updated:

Offshore winds again overnight will drive a mild early March day Tuesday.  But don't be fooled this quiet part of the forecast will be replaced by an active pattern Wednesday thru the weekend.

Tuesday will see highs in the coastal valleys in the upper 70s with lower 70s elsewhere.  Some cooling will take place Wednesday as additional cloud cover rolls in in advance of a rain chance Thursday.  The Thursday-Friday the rain looks very light but Saturday-Monday .5-2" of rain is possible.  The American GFS model is lower in the half inch range but the EURO which has performed well of late has a broad brush of 1-1.5" falling across the area.

The Saturday-Monday system also has 20-35mph wind potential from the S with 50+mph gusts possible, so in essence, it looks a bit like the system late last week.

I am sure as this system draws closer there will be some discussion of flash flood preps in sensitive areas.
