Paso Robles baseball league's snack bar struck by vandals

Posted: Updated:

Vandals have targeted a Paso Robles baseball league's snack bar multiple times now, stealing candy and snacks.

The snack bar at Sherwood Park has been broken into at least twice in the past couple of weeks.

On Sunday, several locks were broken and thieves made their way through a window. According to volunteers with the Paso Robles Pony League, took hundreds of dollars worth of food.
At the end of February, the locks on the door were broken.

Police reports have been filed, but the league wants whoever did this to know they're hurting the kids. All the money raised at the snack bar is used for uniforms, trophies and awards.

"The money typically goes towards field maintenance, equipment, umpire fees," explained Jessica Nash, a mother of one of the players. "This is a volunteer organization so nobody is actually taking a paycheck to this, so that's another reason it's really disappointing."

The snack bar was also reportedly broken into three times last year.

The league is now working on new security measures to make sure this doesn't happen again.
