Ahead of the rain in the forecast for Thursday night, Wednesday will be somewhat of a transitional day. Daytime temperatures will mostly be in the high 60s-low 70s throughout the area.

Mid to high-level clouds will cover most of the region Wednesday morning, causing daytime highs to drop a few degrees. Winds are looking to be relatively calm for Wednesday and will stay within a five to 15 mile per hour range.

Models indicate that the Central Coast could see some showers Thursday evening in northern San Luis Obispo County, which will become much more widespread and reach southern Santa Barbara County by early Friday morning. That system will clear up by late Friday morning but still bring a potential for scattered afternoon showers for the interior portions of San Luis Obispo County.

Another system is in the forecast for Saturday, which brings a concern to the mountains and foothills, particularly the Thomas Fire burn area. However, National Weather Service is reporting that rain rates for that system will be light and steady throughout Saturday.
