Rain returns just as the weekend arrives and the storm door is open into late in the month

Posted: Updated:

Friday looks partly to mostly cloudy skies with mild temperatures in the 70s.  There is a chance of a sprinkle or shower as a system from the SW tries to nose in.  Little to no accumulation thru Friday.  It looks pretty weak but it is the first of a series of storms which look progressively stronger as we go thru the weekend and into late next week.

The second system is a stronger system with S winds 15-25mph and rain arriving later Saturday morning and lasting until Sunday morning. This system has 5-1.5" rain potential with more at higher elevations. This is a warm sub-tropical system so snow levels look very high at 7000-8000ft.

Then we see a shift to systems dropping in from the NW.  There is a system Monday into Tuesday for more scattered rain showers with minor additional rain accumulation and yet another system Wednesday-Friday.  That looks to be the strongest system, with 20-35mph winds and the highest rain potential. 1-3" of rain is possible and it should be watched since forecast details are certain to change as it draws closer. If we look at modeling into late in the month the forecast looks active and wet.
