Police officer, bystander pull injured resident out of Paso Robles apartment fire

Posted: Updated:

Officials with the Paso Robles Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Riverside Avenue in Paso Robles Sunday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., officials say a Paso Robles police officer was flagged down and advised of a fire in an apartment. The officer saw the resident lying on the floor among smoky conditions through the open front door.

With the help of a bystander, the two pulled the injured person out of the apartment, authorities say.

When fire officials arrived minutes later, the victim was lying in the front yard with smoke coming from the bottom floor apartment.

Fire officials say the first arriving crew treated the burn victim, who was transported to the hospital with burn injuries to their hands and body.

Firefighters say the kitchen grease fire was contained. No additional apartment units were damaged.
