San Luis Obispo is looking for more artists to paint utility boxes around the city.

Right now, 33 utility boxes have been painted over in colorful and intricate designs. The city plans to paint over the remaining 27 city-owned boxes.

The project started in 2010 as a way to bring more color to city streets. The Public Art Program is hoping that the next batch of painted boxes, entitled "Watershed Awareness through Art," will reflect the city's natural resources.

Applications are due by Friday, March 23. Find more information here.
