UPDATE: Lockdown at San Luis Obispo County Jail lifted

UPDATE - The lockdown was lifted at 6 a.m. on Monday, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

Spokesperson Tony Cipolla said, "Lockdowns are not common, but are done when a safety issue for staff and inmates is present." 


ORIGINAL STORY - Officials with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office say the county jail is on lockdown after a fight between nine inmates.

The lockdown started Saturday at 6 p.m. and is due to end 6 a.m. Monday.

Authorities say there were no injuries to staff or inmates and that the lockdown is precautionary, to 'make sure everyone is safe.'

No other details were released.
