Big rig blocks 3 northbound lanes on Hwy 101 at Cuesta Grade

UPDATE: As of 6:30 a.m., all lanes of the highway were reopened.


A stretch of Highway 101 northbound is closed Tuesday morning after a semi truck jack knifed at the base of the Cuesta Grade. 

According to CHP Traffic Incident Page, a traffic hazard was reported on the northbound lanes around 5:15 a.m. 

A semi-truck that was carrying thousands of pounds of cabbage is reportedly jackknifed, covering three lanes on Highway 101. 

A SIG alert was issued just before 5:40 a.m. warning drivers that delays could be 30 minutes or more. 

No injuries have been reported. 

Authorities are on scene. Avoid the area if possible.
