Morro Bay High School to host Cal vs San Diego State water polo match

Posted: Updated:

Morro Bay High School is hosting an official NCAA Division 1 water polo match between UC Berkeley and San Diego State University on Wednesday night.

Morro Bay is centrally located between both T-No. 1 California (15-3) and No. 21 San Diego State (10-12). Not only do the two teams get to check out the Pirates' new aquatic facility, but local high school programs get a chance to watch some of the best players in the country.

"I think it's fantastic for all of our athletic programs and obviously our aquatics athletes get to see some of the best collegiate athletes in the country training and playing a game in their facility," said Andrew Silva, Assistant Athletic Director for Aquatics. "Cal is ranked number and one and San Diego State is ranked nationally as well, so for our athletes, our local athletes, they get to see what's possible."

Game time is at 6 p.m.
