Holiday Fire remains 95% contained

UPDATE: (7:15 A.M.) - Fire officials say that the Holiday Fire in Goleta remains at 95-percent containment as of Tuesday morning.

Officials say they are 100-percent containment by 6 p.m. Tuesday night and to have 100-percent control by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Reports say 35 firefighters will continue mopping up the burn today, that number will drop to a dozen firefighters by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire officials said Monday evening that the Holiday Fire in Goleta is 95-percent contained.

The fire, which broke out Friday night, quickly spread destroyed part of a neighborhood.

Full containment of the fire, which burned 100 acres and destroyed 15 outbuildings, 13 homes and damaged three other homes, is expected Wednesday.

Some mandatory evacuations remain in effect for the area.
