When a Paso Robles woman reviewed the surveillance footage captured Sunday morning on her Ring, a doorbell camera device, she was stunned.

The video clip shows a bear walking up to the front door of her home on Oxen Court.

Carol Winter said she installed the Ring about six months ago and has only ever seen video of "cats, the gardener, the neighbors dog, random folks out for an evening stroll."

"We see deer from time to time in our neighborhood, but NEVER a bear," Winter said.

She said she had no idea bears lived in the area, which she described as populated.
