Greka to pay steep fine to local water board

The Central Coast Water Board is getting a big payout from Greka Oil and Gas. The board agreed to accept Greka's $400,000 settlement for violating cleanup requirements for oily dirt. Beaches cleared after 2 sewage spills this week

Results are in from water tests at two area beaches, after sewage spills plagued the areas earlier this week. The water has been tested at both Avila and Oceano beaches, and both tests came back clear. All warnings have been lifted, and the water is now considered safe... more » -

Approximately 200 gallons of diesel fuel spilled at the the job site for the Goleta Valley Hospital, according to a spokesperson for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
